We've all seen the heartbreaking devastation Hurricane Helene wreaked on North Carolina and the surrounding areas, and as I type this, Hurricane Milton is barrelling towards the Florida coast.  Before the hurricane, we'd made arrangements for a fall Shelter Run to the Henry County Animal Shelter in Martinsville, VA, with a stop in Asheville, NC for a Board of Directors Retreat.  Since we'll be in the Asheville area anyway, we're hoping we can unload the supplies from the Henry County wishlist then refill the van with food for those who need it most.

We'll be headed down on November 8, and we're hoping you can help us reach our goal and help some of the current shelter residents (as of this writing), pictured below, as well as those affected by the hurricane. We budgeted some money for extra food for shelters in the hurricane's path, but if we can exceed our goal, we can really pack the van full!

 

Here’s how it works:

• We’ve asked the shelter for their wishlist, and we’ll be collecting donations for the items below.

• If you wish to donate an item, please see the paypal buttons below to make a donation towards an item.  You can also make a monetary donation to be applied to our travel costs below by using the "Donation" button below.

• When an item is donated, we'll update the wishlist, and we'll color in parts of the "Shelter" below

• The items for which you are donating will not be delivered to you. We will purchase them with the donated funds, and will deliver them to the shelter when we visit.

• If you wish to remain anonymous, please let us know in the comments section of PayPal.Otherwise we will list your name in the Donor Section below.
