On September 17, we’re headed to Fayette and Webster Counties, WV, for another shelter run.  Since you all just very generously supported our Spay and Neuter mission, we wanted to keep this one on the smaller scale.  We normally ask for donations to cover about $7,000 worth of food and supplies; this time, we cut it in half.  We also have some physical donations that we’ve been saving for this run, so that helps too.

 

We’re looking to raise $3,500 for the supplies we need to take to the shelters on this run.  A list of what we’ll be able to get for your donation is below (these are just examples: you can donate any amount you'd like--it ALL adds up and it ALL makes a difference!)  We’ll fill the treat jar each time a donation comes in until we get to the top!

 

The two organizations we’ll be supporting this time around are New River Humane Society, Fayetteville, WV, and Saving Webster Dogs, Cowan, WV.  Rose Cochran, who runs SWD, is someone we’ve worked with for several years.  The pound in Webster County, WV, is a 5-day kill shelter, meaning that, even if there is space, dogs are euthanized after 5 days.  Rose stepped up to the plate and offered her farm as a stopgap solution for these dogs, until they can go to rescue.  Tails of Hope has been providing spay and neuter funding for these dogs, and we try to support Rose with food, shelter, and other donations as often as we can.  Rose works TIRELESSLY to care of these animals, and sometimes has as many as 60 dogs on the farm at any given time.  While she is an amazing woman, she can’t do it alone; with our help, we can ease the burden a little.  Meet her and some of the dogs in this VIDEO.

 

Here’s how it works:

• We’ve asked these groups for their wishlists, and we’ll be collecting donations for the items below.

• If you wish to donate towards an item, please use the paypal donate button below, or use one of the other payment method listed.

• Even though paypal may ask you for a shipping address, the items for which you are donating will not be delivered to you. We will purchase them with the donated funds, and will deliver them via truck to their recipients.

• If you wish to remain anonymous, please let us know in the comments section of PayPal. Otherwise we will list your name in the Donor Section below.

• When an items is donated, we'll add a treat to the treat jar below.

• Check back daily to see the jar fill up!
