A sweet young girl we found right before her "time was up" at a high-kill shelter in Southern Va. Hard to imagine anyone abandoning such a gorgeous, good-natured dog, and harder to imagine losing such a great girl so young! We're not sure if she's purebred Great Pyr -- she looks just like one, except for only single rear dew claws and her slightly shorter coat. She's very affectionate with her foster parents, good with kids, playful with her foster family's dog, and positively adores being brushed (all the better for her stunning white coat!)

Pearl was underweight when she came in, but we've been getting her back to her proper size and think it's possible she's still an adolescent puppy and might even have some growing left to do. As she's such a young dog, we're working on her obedience training and leash manners. She's perfectly house and crate-trained, knows "sit" "down" and "leave it"

will come to her name or a whistle, and we're working on "stay" and "roll over." She's intelligent and, like most Great Pyrenees, strong-willed.

She'll require an owner committed to continue her obedience training and socialization.

Pearl loves walks (on leash!), tummy rubs, playing in the yard with her foster family's dog, getting brushed, watching TV with her head on her foster dad's lap, and napping at her foster mom's feet. She blossoms under the slightest bit of attention, and she's so beautiful that "Pearler Bear" turns heads wherever she goes!

Fenced yard a must, for Pearl WILL wander off without a fence or leash.

Please read up on the independent, protective, devoted, and LARGE Great Pyrenees breed if you're interested in this pretty girl.
